almost forgot to mention that when you get a strong event (sickness/Diease) the attacts one part of the body like the lungs. The body remembers, so when the next virus comes through town it will find your weakest spot to set up shop. In your case the lungs, from that point forward it tends to be a nasty battle to get control back without reprocussions
Again,
Best wishes.
It sounds like this could be post-virus. Especially after what I have seen this year. We had a virus with fever and sore throat that moves into a head cold with chronic coughing and sneezing. and when it seems to be setting down it moves in to the lungs flaring back up into bronchitis with coughing that would last for weeks. It will completely drain you and leave you weak and lightheaded. A number in our area that picked up the virus, were weakened to the point of contracting secondary pneumonia. Your symptoms sound similar, bad news is I have seen this run it course from 4 to 10 weeks. It is nasty, especially for those with pre-existing lung problems. If your mucus turns yellow in color when blowing your nose or coughing up phlegm. Time to see your doctor, you now have an infection to deal with!
Try to have a nice Christmas anyway....
Best Wishes.
Viral pneumonia can damage and inflame the alveoli (air sacs in the lungs). This, in turn, makes it more difficult to breathe when you get sick and worsens symptoms of the common cold. He might want to see a doctor to make sure that there is still not a virus being harbored in his lungs. When the cold produces phlegm, it can be harder for the lungs to process and expel, resulting in shortness of breath and tightness. There aren’t many herbal supplements that are designed for lungs, but taking an amino acid called N-acetylcysteine provides good lung support and detoxification. Also he can at least start taking an immune boosting supplement daily until he starts to feel better. Have him drink plenty of hot fluids – reduced sodium broth, tea, and hot water with lemon and honey. This keeps phlegm thinner and easier to expel. It also helps to hold an electric heating pad on the chest – it reduces discomfort and helps remove the phlegm. I had a friend who battled with pneumonia for 3 months, and myself have had bronchitis many times – hope this info helps him as much as it helped us!
I really think your boyfriend should go to the hospital and do some exams! Because you know, it's to know for sure what's wrong.
