Diastolic Heart Failure

I have had a rough 3 years of not knowing what was wrong with me. I had Shortness of breath and weakness/fatigue upon exertion.
I was first sent thru the rabbit hole of Neurology, test after test was done all normal.  then it was Hematology and bone marrow biopsy and labs normal but  I  was  put on chemotherapy pills  for a week until I went back and  hematologist he said stop taking chemo pills due to misdiagnosis of a blood cancer.

So the hunt continued and back to the PCP I went. She then sent me cardiologist. EKG normal but he said he could if I wanted to have stress/echo test done he would order it. . He was surprised to find I had a blockage...underwent cardiac Cath and stent placed in Circumflex artery.

I thought all was well but still my health deteriorated from shortness of breath, weakness/fatigue.

8 months after stent placement I had a heart attack with the one stent failed and the widow maker artery blockage 75 % , HOWEVER, FINALLY they discovered with a BNP test I had HEART FAILURE.

DIASTOLIC HEART FAILURE WITH PERSERVED EJECTION FRACTION was final diagnosis. Also I have ASCVD so I'm on some pretty strong meds.

I wanted to share my story to encourage others...If you know something isn't in right in your body and you have poor quality of life? And doctors doesn't seem to know?..keep persuing for answers. I have so much of my story that I didn't include like changing cardiologist s 3 times to finally get correct diagnosis after my heart attack. It was like the doctor s did not want to give me a diagnosis.

Diastolic heart failure and ASCVD are life threatening conditions and I'm so thankful to have found the right cardiologist to tell me point blank what is causing my illness and she prescribed me medicine that is helping.

Glad to be on this forum.
