Bristol Palin trashes the McCain family in upcoming memoir

John McCain and Sarah Palin have long insisted things are all good between them, even after their losing 2008 presidential effort wound up with a nasty bout finger pointing between loyalists to the two former running mates. But the family members of both candidates are not being so publicly amicable.
As ABC News's Sheila Marikar reports, Bristol Palin trashes the McCain clan in her new upcoming memoir, "Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far."
It's unclear from Marikar's report whether the 20-year-old Palin daughter e specifically mentions her mother's running mate, her book does slam McCain's wife, Cindy, for acting like "royalty" and accuses the senator's 26-year-old daughter, Meghan, of being a snobby whiner.
Palin writes that she had a "sneaking suspicion I might need to watch my back" the first time she met Meghan McCain. She says the senator's daughter "ignored" the family during their first meet-and-greet and always seemed to be judging them.
"Every time we saw Meghan, she seemed to be constantly checking us out, comparing my family to hers and complaining," Bristol Palin writes. "Oh the complaining."
Cindy McCain, Palin writes, looked like a "queen" and conducted "herself like royalty." "I'd never seen people with so much Louis Vuitton luggage, so many cell phones, and so many constant helpers to do hair and makeup," Palin writes.
She says the senator's wife also offered to be the godmother of her then-unborn baby—which irked her. "I had just met her and I wondered why she wanted any type of guardianship over my child," she writes, per ABC.
Bristol Palin's comments are no doubt a response to Meghan McCain's remarks about the Palin family in the aftermath of the 2008 campaign. In McCain's memoir, "Dirty Sexy Politics," she slammed the Palin family for bringing a "tabloid-attention-getting quality to the campaign trail." She's repeatedly trashed Sarah Palin for hurting the GOP and called Bristol Palin "ridiculous" for not voting in last fall's midterm elections.
"I guess it's only important to Bristol Palin to vote for 'Dancing With the Stars,' " McCain told late night host Jay Leno in November.
So far, there's been no comment from the McCains on Bristol Palin's comments. Her book is set to be released Friday.

Yeah, I guess she is running with the media coverage---------- but then I feel like she can't wa wa to everyone when they criticize or make fun of her. And really, what substance could her memoir actually have. Yikes-------- who would buy that?
I never gave this girl or her part in life much thought, but it is more than obvious that the media made her what she is. She is smart in the respect that she is taking full advantage of the situation provided for her, but I just wish she'd go away now..... NOW!
I have no interest in reading “The world According to a 20 Year Old”. I find it hard believe the book wasn’t read by Sarah (and approved) before released.
Bristol Palin is writing a memoir? That is kind of funny in and of itself.
While I don't think the children of politicians should be brought up by the press, some crave the attention they can get.
Then they are basically asking for what they get.
And some that are easy targets such as this young lady should think about that before inviting it.

I agree. How old is this girl? Someone needs to sit her down and explain to her that you cannot go around saying what you want without proof, even if you are a palin.
Sounds like this is a non story. Both sides sound quite immature.
Really raped by Levi?? OMG if that is so I feel awful for my comment. BUT I don't think so cus If she was, why did her mom not make a stink abut that one?? better yet, why wasn't he arrested and put in jail? I agree, it's def a publicity stunt...
Actually I read somewhere that she was actually gotten drund and raped and ended up prego. Yeah, sounds like all this publicity has kind of gone to her head.
All this coming from a teenager that got drunk, had sex, and got pregnant!!! ("for the first time") Really?! People who live in glass houses should not throw stones...
