Man arrested 20 times, now charged with 5 counts of attempted murder
BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
A Baton Rouge man has been arrested for a twentieth time, and police say this last time he is being charged with five counts of attempted second degree murder.
Frederick Lee Irving, 33, to date has been arrested for possession of marijuana, resisting an officer, simple battery, accessory after the fact first degree murder, aggravated assault, unauthorized entry, domestic abuse battery, and aggravated criminal damage to property.
On August 26, 2014, reports from the Baton Rouge Police Department say Irving went to a residence in the 4900 block of Jean St. looking for a woman. Reports say the man got angry with the woman and "slapped her with enough force that she almost dropped her 2-year-old son that she was holding at the time."
The woman ran into the residence and another person in the home stopped Irving from coming in, but that is when Irving pulled out a gun and started to shoot, according to documents from BRPD. The unidentified man was shot in the elbow, the left leg, and a bullet grazed his lower abdomen.
Crime scene technicians found a .38 special in a yard on Jean St. and that weapon had been fired approximately five times.
Irving was arrested on Oct. 20 and charged with five counts of attempted second degree murder, simple battery and illegal discharge of a weapon. His bond is set at $395,000.
