The Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 (Pub.L. 111–296) is a federal statute signed into law by President Barack Obama on December 13, 2010. The bill is part of the reauthorization of funding for child nutrition (see the original Child Nutrition Act). The bill funds child nutrition programs and free lunch programs in schools for the next 5 years.[1] In addition, the bill sets new nutrition standards for schools, and allocates $4.5 billion for their implementation.[1] The new nutrition standards have been a point initiative of First Lady Michelle Obama in her fight against childhood obesity as part of her Let's Move! initiative.[2]
Now if you follow that other link I gave you earlier, it will tell you what is going on in the schools with the shutdown.
My guess is that the website Michelle Obama put up is not the federally funded part, and I understand she has put a kids page there as well....
And OH! The amber alert website is up and running!
Even if one has no knowledge whatsoever of federal funding, federal appopriations, or the legislative process, it takes 5 minutes of moving around on the "Let's Move" website to notice two things: (1) many of the links go to private websites, and (2) all the links that lead back to a federal site lead straight to the same basic notice about Government shutdown impacting services. This makes it logically clear that the "Let's Move" website is simply the campaign banner; any "programs" which are happening in support of the campaign are either (a) funded through private sources, or (b) handled individually within each department. For example, if you follow the "where to go" link on this part of the "Let's Move" website, and click on "find forests and parks near you", you get directed to THIS external site. And of course, when you click on any of the parks listed at that site, you get this message: "Due to the lapse in agency funding, the sale of all types of permits (i.e., recreation, firewood, forest products, mineral materials for example) are suspended, recreation.gov reservations are suspended, and all federally owned recreation sites are closed. All offices are closed. These services will be available once funding is restored."
Same goes for each department that has launched "Let's Move" supporting programs. I already linked to IMLS's portion, but here's HHS's too. Just like IMLS's site, the informational components are still accessible. But, if you go to HHS's main site, you get the same message about Government shutdown.
It isn't hard to comprehend, and it is rather common sense. But, it requires a moderate amount of time actually digging into the details, and apparently that required modest amount of time is too much to ask for some people.

Next I need to figure out who I've inadvertently been insulting and apologize. Homosexuals who I've been calling conservative? Conservatives I've been implying were gay? What about gay conservatives? And since I don't have a problem with gays or conservatives, how is it even an insult?
For me it's always been just a mildly derisive shorthand for 'people with good intentions who have been lied to shamelessly and manipulated.
This is going to take some studying before I can figure out where I strayed.
