I seldom take anything for a head ache. They are more of a bother than anything else. A few minutes of quiet and a glass of water are often enough to ward off most of my headaches.
Just about all the medications these days that claim to help anyone ailment can kill you in the side effects. Then people take em for a few years, several die and THEN they pull em off the market. Seems like its all done backwards from what it should be. I do not believe in medication unless it is absolutely necessary. Even ibuprophen will give you liver damage if taken excessively.
Didn't read the article or anyones post, but it truly cracks me up when a drugs potential side affects are worse than what they are trying to cure.
"Having trouble with headaches??? Try "Damn it" ! Its great! (Then the small print) May cause diahrea, bloody nose, dimentia, herpes, devil worshipping....
Well I am glad to help. When I was barely 20, I acquired heart block from a medication that was suppose to be "safe". Thankfully its only a minor thing, but now that I also have a few other rythm issues going on, I am super careful now about the effects of drugs on the heart rythm...
Thanks VERY much for posting that. This applies to me, probably moreso than anyone on this board (hope I'm not being too presumptuous in making that statement). I'm through Methodist Hospital's ER, here in the Houston Med Center, AT LEAST twice a month, sometimes more).

Well THAT'S just freaking awesome. Every single time I check into the ER, the first thing they give me is Zofran.
Usually it's 12mg Zofran, 10mg Toradol and 2mg Dilaudid
Kidney-stone pain doesn't come without nausea & occasional vomiting, and Zofran is SOP for them, whenever I walk in the door.
Phenergan (Promethazine) is what they USED TO use on me, but i found that it made me REALLY, REALLY drowsy, so one day they switched me over to Zofran, and it's all I've had since then.
Think I might make a switch back to Phenergan, drowsiness side-effect or not.
Yes thanks for posting that. I am going to bookmark that and read through it more carefully because for a while I took Zofran which is in experimental use for tardive dyskinesia as well as Parkinson's and in study as an adjunct (add on) antipsychotic agent. I know as medications are approved Phase 4 (after approval) studies can show other effects of them either positive or negative. To continue these type of studies for both safety and efficacy is essential.
