Al and Tipper Gore to Separate After 40 Years

Former Vice President Al Gore and his wife, Tipper, are separating after 40 years of marriage.

According to an e-mail circulated among the couple's friends and obtained by The Associated Press on Tuesday, the Gores said it was "a mutual and mutually supportive decision that we have made together following a process of long and careful consideration."

I remember when he lost the election and the downright hissy fit that he threw. I remember thinking WOW! I feel sorry for his wife cause if he is gonna go off like that in public can you just imagine how much worse he is at home? still 40 years!

It's obvious he does not like anything that questions his belief system.  Can you imagine trying to settle a marital spat with someone who acts like that???

According to close friends infidelity was and is not the issue. The friends originally did not want to comment until those infidelity rumors started circulating. They said no way was tht the reason. Frankly, who cares.

Whatever the reason, it's so sad to see a marriage that has lasted that long break up.  You would think after 40 years they had faced everything there was to be faced and gotten past it.  It's a shame.  How was Bush involved?

Bush???  He is one talented man if he can break up a marriage.  Oh Geez, does the blame Bush never end?????  What a crock.  Tipper got tired of marriage to an obnoxious idiot.  Have you ever seen Al Gore when he is questioned?  He cannot handle it.

It's a shame after all these years, but he's a goofball!  Maybe something was "heating up" in old Al, it certainly wasn't a global thing.

ha ha.  I agree!  I always liked her, to be honest.  She seems quite smart and together . . . and I wish her a lot of happiness in her future.  Maybe Al will spend his time now trying to prove that global warming is what he said it was.  

but 40 years of marriage . . . that is always a little sad.

Personally I think Tipper should be applauded for putting up with him as long as she did.
