Washington mud slide

http://www.aol.com/article/2014/03/23/washington-slide-kills-3-searchers-seek-survivors/20854860/?icid=maing-grid7|main5|dl3|sec1_lnk3%26pLid%3D456965

With this being the wettest winter in a long time around here, I am expecting something like this to happen here.  We've had 2 major slides in the last 11 years that have closed the canyon I have to drive up for weeks......

Yeah, I don't know what you'd do to be found in one of these.  Fortunately nobody was injured in the 2 big ones we've had.  The most recent one we had was an "active slide" for a few days and they had to wait for it to stabilize before they could clear the road and rebuild the road bed.

Just recently they placed some barriers up along side some of the roads in town because of the amount of rocks/boulders being freed and rolling off the hills and on the roads.  Spring here is always muddy and interesting.

I feel bad for all the folks this this affected.

But really... what do ya do?

There're only (2) options, as I see it:

1) Make peace with the fact that when it's your time, it's your time, and happily live your life until Mother-Nature comes knocking on your door (and subsequently buries you under 25ft of mud)

OR

2) Move

Brice... I hope you never get caught in one of these things. I can't even imagine getting buried alive, knowing there's not a freaking thing you can do to escape. Maybe have a GPS beacon/locator installed in your car, just in case, so they can at least ATTEMPT to dig you out should you get caught up in one of these things?
