Well, yeah. You wouldn't want to get the Indians involved in a debate over who actually 'owns' Arizona. Betcha the Hopi and Navajo wish they'd had stricter immigration policies.

California would do well to secede. Within 20 years the US will be importing 50% of its food. California will still be a net exporter of food. Plus, you know the first thing they'll do is legalize their #1 cash crop, tax it, and they balance the budget.
Arizonans got greedy and shot themselves in the foot going after Park Service land. They should have stuck to harassing BLM. US taxpayers have invested too much keeping that Park pristine (and making Arizonans tons of money at the same time).

I'm all for California to secede as well, but considering the states financial situation.... ain't gonna happen. Too many municipalities, cities, towns, are bankrupt and the state can't afford to bail them out.
I understand Arizona's wish to take lands back from the fed, but that too can be real dicey. I hope they put a lot of thought and study into this. As good as it might sound or look on paper, it might very well blow up on them.

I'm all for California succeeding from the nation, but it ain't gonna happen.
