Yeah, the ACLU is going to blow an o-ring (if they haven't already).
I don’t really care one way or the other. I posted it because it is going to be interesting to see how it will be dealt with. Especially when both Parties 100% support it. They are in unison and no one to pit against each other.
I feel that public schools should serve the needs of all. If I want my child to learn religion in school or have prayer in school, I will send him to a Christian school. Public schools aren't the place for it. Just my opinion.
Im with Brice in not thinking this is something that the schools should be involved in.
I didn’t have time to post after I posted the Link. I really don’t care one way or the on the on the issue,
I love the Irony in passing this Bill and Jindal signing it into Law. The ACLU is got to walking around “Punch Drunk” right now.
Everyone is screaming for Bi-Partisanship, well we got it. Rep. Katrina Jackson's proposed House Bill 724 (she is a Democrat) Governor Bobby Jindal (a Republican) signed it into law).
It passed unanimously (100% Bi-partisan) through the House 92 Yea-0 Nay
It passed unanimously (100% Bi-partisan) through the Senate 39 Yea-0 Nay
It passed unanimously (100% Bi-partisan) through the Senate Vote on Co- Authors 33 Yea-0 Nay
This is going to be interesting and you know The ACLU is pulling their Hair out. I love it.
I'm not a very religious guy. Spiritual perhaps, but not so much on religion. I don't care who is religious, or who is not. I don't think religion should be taught in schools, but that is just my opinion.
I think ones religious needs should be met off campus in any of our nations churches, synagogues, mosques, etc.
(If prayer alone or the ability to pray would save our schools, it would have been handled already.) By the way, I am okay with the Pledge of Allegiance being recited in schools. I think the Pledge has a lot more to do about us all being on the same track as a nation than it does with religion.
"It also allows attendance by school employees, parents and community members."
So anyone from 'the community' can come onto school grounds and prosletyze?

Interesting...I read that there is a Muslim group bent on proselytizing here in the U.S. Maybe they can join the community. A whole new can of worms.lol.
:-)

So anyone from 'the community' can come onto school grounds and prosletyze? Well, as long as all gov't. funding is withdrawn from the school, I guess it won't violate that whole "separation of Church and State" thing.
