NORTH LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- A woman suspected of shoplifting tried to make a fast getaway, leaving her six-month old child in a South Florida Walmart, police said.

Video
Broward Sheriff's Office deputies said Janita Moreau, 37, and two of her children, ages 13 and 11, were stealing merchandise from the store on West McNab Road Wednesday night.

Store security guards spotted the trio putting items into a diaper bag, and a stroller with the baby inside.

As the family tried to leave the store, they were confronted by security guards. That's when, according to police, the family ran back into the store to hide, leaving the 6-month-old behind.

Police said Moreau faces charges of petty theft and neglect without great harm. She is being held at the Broward County Main Jail.

The children were released into the custody of the baby's father.

Child Protective Services is investigating.

What I find really scary, is these are the same sick people who have no common sense when it comes to having more kids. Some pay no attention to birth control, or just  continue to give birth, over and over, to get more money from welfare, then they raise them to be thieves, drug addicts, and losers, so the population is starting to fill up with morons.

My husbands cousin is a teacher married to a cop.  She works in the worst part of the city they live in and teaches 1st grade.  You would not believe the stories she tells me...she actually caught a group of them smoking!!  They got the cigarettes from their parents.  She said there is almost no point in calling some of these parents, because they either don't care or are too drunk or stoned to really notice.

Her husband was called out recently for a child left alone in a car at a mall.  The mother came out while he was there with a baby in a carrier.  When she saw the police at her car, she shoved the car seat with the infant under another car (hoping no one would see...she was hiding it)...can you imagine..UNDER a car!!  They noticed and got the baby and the carrier had a bunch of stolen items in it.  She was fully prepared to risk the well being and life of her baby to not get caught for shoplifting..can you imagine?  When I think of what I went through to have my son it makes my physically ill to hear stories like we hear these days.  I will never understand why they don't just put these babies up for adoption.  Clearly they have no desire to be parents.

I cannot believe someone would do that! I just cannot imagine what kind of so called mother could run off and leave her baby. Talk about self centered, she certainly does not deserve the title of Mother. Grrr.

Another candidate for Mother of the Year.  Teaching her young children to steal...what wonderful values to start out their young lives.  And heck, if caught abandon your kids.  I wonder what her excuse shall be and what the end result will be.  Abuse is more the hitting...
