"Pushed wrong button"..... sweet, so its stuck for another year. Brilliant.
Well, as they say, it only takes one! And we all got at least one! Right? lol
I gotta work tomorrow so am off to bed.
"Why?
In that particular state, a wrong vote cannot be corrected and has to be counted. I noticed you didnt repeat that part?
Why?"
Other than it being such an important vote, I thought it was funny that the wrong button was pushed! Oh, Nevermind
Did you notice, that those are not democratic controlled states as you suggested? Other than the goof you so eloquently pointed out. So no, they dont get a bi do they?
Why?

”Montana: Democratic Gov. Steve Bullock supports Medicaid expansion and he almost persuaded the state’s GOP-controlled legislature to approve it last year. But the measure failed when a Democratic lawmaker accidentally pushed the wrong button, voting against it.”
I think I would have cut that part of the article out and hoped no one would have found it. LOL
Maybe I couldnt get past the (lets make it personal remark?) So be it
Just once, I'd like to see some of you Obama die-hards to admit that it might not be all it's cracked up to be and that it might need "work"... oh, silly me!!
"Just as much as I would love to see one of you republican die hards, admit that it just might damn well work! So I guess were even? You betcha!"
Did you even read what I wrote? I don't think so... here it is again; take your time to digest it..
"Do I think the plan is all bad? No. Do I think it needs to go away? Not in its entirety.. We all know that it's here and we have to make the best of it."
OH! And my point was that if someone is elligable for food stamps, they are most likely elligable for medicaid! Medicaid has NO deductibles, NO out of pocket expense.
Just as much as I would love to see one of you republican die hards, admit that it just might damn well work! So I guess were even? You betcha!
I'm not sure who you think you're kidding... I've seen some of the lower priced policies with thousands of dollars of deductibles before the insurance pays $1... I'm not broke by any means, nor am I rich, but let me assure you that a major medical issue would send my family into bankruptcy if we had any of those high deductible policies.
It's a sure thing that people didn't choose the "best" plans; they chose the least expensive or the ones they could get the highest subsidies for, whether they're on food stamps or not.
You can give it all the coodoos you want to, but I think you're going to find your bubble burst, whether you choose to admit it or not.

Missouri: Gov. Jay Nixon, a Democrat, has stepped up his efforts to persuade the state’s Republican-led legislature to approve some form of Medicaid expansion. He has said he is willing to support a private option and consumer cost sharing to encourage responsibility. So far, little progress has been made in finding a middle ground that state lawmakers will consider.
Montana: Democratic Gov. Steve Bullock supports Medicaid expansion and he almost persuaded the state’s GOP-controlled legislature to approve it last year. But the measure failed when a Democratic lawmaker accidentally pushed the wrong button, voting against it. According to Montana rules, a mistaken vote cannot be corrected if it affects the outcome of the vote. The legislature meets every other year and 2014 is an off year. Supporters of Medicaid expansion just got legal certification for a November ballot measure that would extend coverage to an estimated 70,000 low-income Montanans. They can now start gathering signatures.
New Hampshire: The GOP-led Senate earlier this month agreed on a bipartisan plan called the New Hampshire Health Protection Program that would expand Medicaid to an estimated 50,000 newly eligible adults. Under the proposed bill, which is slated for a vote next month, New Hampshire would cover eligible adults under the existing Medicaid program starting July 1, and by December 31, 2014, apply for a waiver to use the private option in 2016. If the federal waiver is not approved by March 31, 2015, the so-called “bridge” plan would expire on June 30, 2015. The Senate proposal also would use of an existing state program to pay the employee portion of employer-based health plans for newly eligible adults. The House, which approved an expansion bill last year, is expected to approve the Senate plan, and Hassan is expected to sign it into law by the end of March. She praised the proposal in her State of the State address on Feb. 6.
Speaking of which.

"unless of course they live in a state where republicans have refused to expand the medicaid."
We’ll give Missouri, Montana, & New Hampshire a bi since they are Democrats.
Yes, I meant the house. Will the house follow the senates lead?
As far as the food stamp issue and healthcare. Since subsidys are determined by ones income, I highly doubt those on foodstamp if they are elligable for foodstamps would pay high healthcare costs. Most would be on medicaid, unless of course they live in a state where republicans have refused to expand the medicaid.
Even with many of the new insurance plans, one without adequate income could, easily, go bankrupt from a medical condition. If one must rely on food stamps to feed their family, it's a sure bet they can't afford a $12,000 deductible for a medical issue, either.
If anyone but Paul Ryan were pushing for a reduction in food stamps, I might be able to agree that it's to get rid of the waste/fraud; in this case, I can't get on that bandwagon.
or go bankrupt because of a medical condition.............
The food stamp runaway is right in step with the job loss and the economic crisis which was created largely by - REPUBLICANS!
20% of households are on food stamps, and they are forced to buy insurance or get hit with a tax?
No it is not about cutting food stamps, it's about the runaway program of food stamps. Obama the food stamp President has seen the higest increase in food stamps then every President combined. It is about taking back control of the program and bringing it back down to correct levels.
It is about cutting food stamps...
The Senate is one house of Congress. I guess you're wondering if the House will follow the Senate's lead?
Not about cutting food stamps, it about stopping abuse of it.
Congress=House??
Exactly what are we paying congress for again? 52 votes against the ACA? Cutting food stamps and unemployment insurance? Now if we are so worried about spending, a good place to start might be their wages that they are not earning.
Yesterday the senate passed to continue the unemployment extension, now its up to congress. Will Congress do the same? I mean its an election year so maybe they will for that reason, but I think that would be the only reason.
