Disaster Relief for Haiti

I posted this in my journal but thought I'd put it here too just in case you all don't see it. I originally posted that Compassion International and World Vision are two good organizations accepting donations. I have friends who sponsor children through them and they're good reputable companies.
Today they put some more organizations in our paper so I thought I'd pass it along.

* To donate $10 to the American Red Cross, text "Haiti" to 90999. The amount will be added to your next phone bill. The organization is also accepting donations at www.redcross.org

* To find out how to help the International Rescue Committee, visit www.theIRC.rog or call toll free 1-877-REFUGEE

* To donate through Oxfam's emergency appeal visit www.oxfam.org

* To donate to Partners in Health, visit www.pih.org. The group is also looking for surgeons, nurses and other surgical teams that want to volunteer to help.

* To donate to Doctors Without Borders, go to www.doctorswithoutborders.org


I'm so glad they're giving out more ways to help! Just wanted to pass this along. I have some friends who are doing the cell phone one, it's a fast, easy way to donate, but I'm sure any and all would appreciate any help!

Thanks April I know a lot of folks are concerned as the poor in Haiti dont seem to get any of the money at least in the past their corrupt government had it all, did you see pictures of the palatial Palace ,whilst the regular folks live in shacks .Oxfam in UK was always a favorite of mine they are very good so is the Salvation Army.I am uncertain about OBama saying we are going to rebuild Haiti I am puzzled at where all the money hes promising is coming from, Humanitarian Aid is one thing but passing along many Millions we dont have.... to all the countries he is intending to sounds extremly crazy to say the least .That s what Rush has been saying ..how can we do it all, UK is donating 6 million as they are in financial dire straits , thats differant from the many Millions OBama is promising Haiti  ...before you protest please explain to me how we can do it ?
