Ex-officers attack Obama over bin Laden raid leaks

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/48684754/ns/politics-the_new_york_times/?

"Chad Kolton, who was the spokesman for the director of national intelligence in the Bush administration and now represents the Opsec group, said that because it was classified as a 501(c)(4) educational group under tax laws, it was not required to identify its donors."

This is one of the problems with the current campaign finance laws. We could potentially have foreign money funding attacks on the Commander in Chief. The comparison to the Swift Boat attacks doesn't hold since Obama is our current President and Kerry was not.

I'm actually curious to see a breakdown of where all the campaign financing comes from, on BOTH sides of the fence.

We know, from what the article states, that the Republican-Right has received foreign funds & campaign donations, but none of us are naive enough to think that the Democrat-Left hasn't received foreign monies.

Anyone know where a "where is the money coming from" list is located, for both parties?

"....Smith said the ad campaign pays no heed to political affiliation, and the organization describes itself as nonpartisan and says its focus is on protecting intelligence agents and special operations officers, not on politics.

But it shares an office with two Republican political consulting firms in Alexandria, Virginia. Its spokesman Chad Kolton worked for the Bush administration as a spokesman for the Director of National Intelligence.

Taylor has run for the Republican nomination for Congress in Virginia; Smith said he is a registered Republican but votes independently.

As to who is funding the attack, which was first reported by Reuters, a spokeswoman for the organization would not disclose its donors...."

{"....And the head of special operations, Admiral Bill McRaven, a former SEAL himself, recently told CNN's Wolf Blitzer that credit was due to the president.

"At the end of the day," he said, "make no mistake about it: it was the president of the United States that shouldered the burden for this operation, that made the hard decisions."}
