Arrest Made In Missing Madeleine McCann Case

http://radaronline.com/exclusives/2013/10/madeleine-mccann-arrest-made/

A British suspect was taken into custody by the Greater Manchester Police, the Sunday Mirror is reporting.

McCann is the British girl who disappeared from a Portuguese resort where she was vacationing with her family in May, 2007.

Portuguese officials initially suspected the adorable girl’s parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, of killing the girl, later completely cleared them and subsequently closed the book on the case.

After years of lobbying for help in finding their daughter, the McCanns finally convinced Scotland Yard to take on the case, and Portuguese law enforcement agreed to cooperate.

The arrest came after a British attorney told Scotland Yard he’d met a man who claimed to have seen Madeleine alive just this past summer, the Mirror is reporting.

The lawyer thought the man credible and turned the information over to authorities.

He declined giving any details to the Mirror, saying only, “I cannot risk compromising the investigation or the search for Madeleine. If she is alive but now but disappears again, I would never be able to forgive myself.”

A police spokesman told the newspaper: “A man was arrested in September on suspicion of possession of drugs and conspiracy to distribute indecent images of children. He has been bailed pending further inquiries. An investigation is ongoing into this matter and it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.”

The McCanns are appearing on the UK TV show, Crimewatch, Monday night, in an effort to turn up even more possible clues

"Man Wanted For Questioning In Madeleine McCann Case Ruled Out As Suspect, Sighting Wasn’t Missing Toddler"

What was thought to be a major break in the case of Madeleine McCann‘s disappearance — a man suspected to have been spotted with the toddler — has now been ruled out, as the man was identified and it was not the missing toddler he was seen with.

Scotland Yard released two computer generated photos of a mystery man in hopes that his picture would help identify who took the young girl from a Portuguese resort six years ago, after a reported sighting of the man was with who was thought to be Madeleine, was reported.

But after making contact with the man in question, authorities have concluded that he was nothing more than an innocent British man vacationing with his daughter that he was carrying home, Sky News in the UK first reported on Monday afternoon.

When contacted by police, the man sketched in the photos released on Monday agreed that he may be the person in the pictures and agreed to pose for a photograph so the two could be compared.

The photo coupled with the evidence his 2-year-old daughter at the time was wearing similar pajamas as the sketch, ruled him out.

“As you can see from the images we’ve put forward, both from what the man was probably wearing, and the actual physical location he was in, and the description of the child he was carrying, it is highly compelling,” Detective Chief Inspector Andy Redwood told Sky News.

“We believe in a convincing way that this is not Madeleine’s abductor.”

However, there is still a second alleged sighting of Madeleine from that same evening with a different suspect and police have received more than 100 calls on it.

“These cases can get solved and that’s what the public need to think about tonight,” Madeleine’s father Gerry McCann said during a live appearance on BBC’s Crimewatch.

“We don’t know what’s happened to Madeleine, we don’t know who’s taken her. The best chance of finding her is by identifying (the person who took her).”

Gerry’s wife and Madeleine’s mother, Kate McCann, also spoke during the live show saying, “It doesn’t matter how much heartache we put ourselves through as long as we get the result that we need.”

As Radar previously reported, Madeleine’s parents — who were initially interrogated in Portugal, and cleared of any wrongdoing — are hoping that the kidnapper will succumb to guilt and turn themselves in.

I think it is awful that the parents were put through the ringer as they were.  I know that they would be obvious suspects as all parents are but those investigating seemed to miss so much and waste so much time just focusing on them.  I so agree that I hope they find answers and closure.  I can imagine nothing worse happening that what has happened to them.  She was such a beautiful little girl.  I can't but hope they find her alive but know that the past years would be awful for her based on what the above information says (the pictures they found------------  ugh).  Sick people out there!!

Interesting....  If this poor little girl is still alive, there is no telling what horrors she knows of.  No telling how much brain washing and other grief she's been subjected too.

I truly hope the answers to this young girls missing status come out.  I cannot even imagine the pain her parents are in - they deserve answers.  I know so many persecuted them for leaving their kids alone in a motel room, but one bad decision sure doesn't mean they deserve their child to be taken.  I hurt for them, and I hope they find the answers they need.
