Haiti needs our prayers.

AP - Haitians piled bodies along the devastated streets of their capital Wednesday after a powerful earthquake flattened the president's palace, the cathedral, hospitals, schools, the main prison and whole neighborhoods. Officials feared thousands — perhaps more than 100,000 — may have perished but there was no firm count.

Yes, I copied and pasted this! Not my words.... Still I thought it informative. Poor People!

Truly tragic.  My husband and I were trying to think of the best place to donate money----  American Red Cross?  My lovely little boys each took money out of their piggy banks too.  We are just trying to figure out where to send it.

Did you see the piece on the american girl who lost her leg? 25 years old, I think they said she was. OMG, she is just so glad to be alive and still her heart goes out to those who are still waiting for medical care. I cannot even imagine! I heard they are sending a floating hospital that should arrive in a few days. God I hope they get the heavy equipment there in time to save those who are trapped. I cannot imagine that they did not have this kind of thing available. I hope all nations come forth and I am proud of our president for going all out on this humanitarian effort. I would expect nothing less from the US.

The news was just saying that so many planes are trying to land in Haiti that some have had to turn back or run out of fuel. One of our ships will be there today and take over air traffic control. This is just so heartbreaking to watch.

I think praying for Haiti is something we can ALL come together on.  Such a horrible thing------  makes you realize how precious life is.

Yes, the US is sending aid but it will be a few days before the bulk of it gets there, then God only knows how long till the people actually get it. There are about 50,000 haitians here in Florida alone, all trying to get some word of their families survival. Totally a sad situation. It sure makes one appreciate what they have, thats for sure.

Yes I know someone who has family there. I hope that it didn't affect anyone they know but it might have. I honestly can't picture what it is like for anyone who lives there. Unfortunately because of the state of the country as a whole, there may be further effects if it has disrupted the functioning of society such as the potential of famine or epidemics. I know this has happenned in other third world countries after natural disasters. Thankfully this person I know works with an agency that helps out that country by working to set up free clinics. I know their work will be set back but I am glad they are receiving any at all.
