How dare you Barb...lol. No you got it right what I was trying to say.
Definitely difficult to communicate in writing at times... My apologies for misreading, it's very easy to do, sometimes :-(
BTW: I think stopping things like seed libraries or people being able to offer free seed over the media, is really what is behind this law.

How can we call ourselves free if we can't even trade seeds with people due because it might cut into some seed companies profits ?
Did you know that seed banks at libraries have already closed due to these kinds of laws ?

Okay, here we have a problem of trying to communicate on the net.
Although Vance and I definitely have had our problems and misunderstandings. I meant this not as a snarly reply but honestly asking what he would suggest. No ill feelings meant at all.
BTW: The idea of the Seed Freedom day was originated by the California Grange.
First off, I think you misread what Vance was saying... If I read him correctly, and I think I do, he's saying that disobeying this law should not be considered as civil disobedience because it's a stupid law.
His second post was simply trying to clarify his first post and saying that he's saying nothing against you...
Vance is probably offline now, so I'll risk speaking for him... I think he was saying that the law is stupid and that he didn't advocate following it...
If I misread what he meant, he'll let us know...
I am a gardener and I don't like this at all. Remember Johnny Appleseed people?
I look at seeds as a way of passing on the past to someone for their benefit. I have plants in my garden that came from starters of dear people to me. My grandmother, my aunt, my mother, my sister. I look at seeds the same way.
You know I'm not a big protester or anything . . . but I'd participate in the trading of contraband seeds outside of three miles from my home to represent how ridiculous this is.
It may or may not be a stupid law depending on your point of view. If you work for Monsanto and want to stop free seed banks from being available ( as were at some libraries) then you might hire your lobbyists/think tank goons to slip something like this into state laws.
It is blatantly unconstitutional and certainly is not about Freedom.
As far as the people protesting it, why is that stupid ? What do you think they should do to reverse this stupid law ?
Barb, yes I have some heirloom seeds and there are many seed catalogs that sell them~ just do a google search.
OH: I'm not saying anything about you or the post, just wanted to make that clear so you didn't get on me for it.
Not sure if I call this civil disobediance rather than just stupid. Stupid law and stupid to follow.
No, I think you left a "p" out, but who's worried about that? I just wonder if you had heirloom seeds to share. I used to have some, but I don't anymore...
OOps, I left an H out of happy~
