Thanks for the early AM laugh !! Although I'm not sure if you're seriously questioning or sarcastically questioning. I'll tell you why "others" get more welcomes. They get mad and un-join the group, then they want to put their 2 cents in and re-join. They do this over and over again. Some of these people also get frustrated when their posts here don't anger others and are challenged with facts, so they put the same post on their journal so they can get the attention of like minded folks, while deleting any factual posts from people. This along with constant entries of nonsensical words like "cool", over and over again) in their mood, so it shows up on the recent activity side bar, seems to be a great need for attention and stroking.
But any-who, Welcome to the forum Rory...LOL, again.

LOL, well jordan, anyone that knows me knows I like to say things like, "I knew that!" lol, but your right and I will keep my eye open. I do watch MSNBC and am a frequent visitor of snopes. com and such things. I wonder if I could have made more money being an investigator? My hubby said no! lol

Agreed.  I have learned not to believe everything I hear without trying to check it out first.

Thankyou very much as I am very interested as this is very personal to me. I am among those without so to me, yes, it is very interesting. I have learned to check out who is writing what, and what they stand for or what they have to gain from. It is hard to find just the facts.

In response to the original post. "Health Care Alert", would it not be more efficient to visit the actual bill instead of listening to some slanted version of more scare tactics on u tube? Just a thought.

I want to say "thank you" to all of you who are courageous enough with or without degrees to share your thoughts.  Whether we are right or wrong is not for me to say, nor do I believe for any one else to judge.  Some of us may not have the learning in philosophy or critical thinking skills to satisfy those who judge by such standards, but I am glad this group and others are here for us to learn things through.

I apologize if I have offended anyone.  It wasn't my intention.  I have been posting for over a year and have sought to keep out of mocking any one or putting them down for their views.

Sincerely,
D.

Actually, it was not a barb, but a statement of belief/hope on my part.  Like car dealers, lawyers have a bad rap in many cases because many of our politicians were practicing lawyers.  If someone is going to explain something, I hope they are honest.

The reply was to another poster's statement.  I added my thought which I thought I was free to do.  Last time I checked, I was in America, and we can still voice our opinions (at least, I hope so).  It seems like belittling someone is a cheap way to make a point.

LoL....my profession?  I profess to....  or what I do to earn a living?  I wouldn't want to misunderstand the context in which you place the word to ask the question.

I get into trouble by assuming I know the answer or have an idea of what something means :-?

Example:  I need to re-read the faq's for forum/group posting so I don't step on any toes and misconstrue that something refers to me or that I am standing up for someone based on principles.  Also whether I should carry a conversation with someone I am having some difficulty with in front of an audience.

Respect and courtesy tell me along with common sense, it is better to address that person privately.  Being the parent of a special needs child I am sensitive to "shaming issues" Trying to puff myself up by bringing someone else down is something I will not willingly step into.

Sincerely,
d.

What, pray say, is your profession?  We may wish to inquire into your veracity as well as mine.

Hopefully the lawyers explaining things to us will be honest ones.

Thank you Jordan. It's so important that people receive the truth.  Sometimes they muck it up so much it takes an attorney to let us know what it really means.
