The CBO is out with a big new report on who gets what out of tax expenditures, the deduction, credits, and exclusions that have grown to cost the federal government hundreds of billions of dollars a year.
Here’s the headline: the 10 major expenditures examined in the report cost the government $900 billion this year and will cost almost $12 trillion over the decade to come. That’s more than Medicare, defense or Social Security.
So who’s getting all this money? The affluent, for the most part. Nearly half of the budgetary cost of the expenditures went to people in the top income quintile, which, for a family of four, means families making over $162,800 a year pre-tax

Because they make the most $. So why should a person making $500,000 a year pay $250,000 in taxes? This is America not the old Soviet Union where the good of the state takes priority over the good of the people.

Housing is not back, not even close to being back. THE PRESIDENT has nothing to do with the stock market. If you believe he does then will you give him credit when the market has a self correction and falls about 300pts in 2-3 days? Jobs still suck, and the economy still *****.

Yeah Obama was elected by the people who buy into catch phrases and vote based on skin color. Not based on someone who is experienced enough for the job or based on what is good for the country.

Honestly, even without this report, I have always felt like the gop is all about tax cuts and baking the wealthiest amongst us while trying to rid the country of the things the average person depends on in order to pay for it. They say its all about fighting big government, but that view has been shown to be hypocracy on their part when you look at the programs they want to ditch, refuse funding for, or obstruct appointees to operate them. Add that to the different states refusing obamacare and medicaid edpansion along with defunding things like pp and making all these laws that affect women based on a few old mens moral rule.

I have heard obama called a dictator and a socialist for years now. At a time when the stock market is in record territory, housing is back, etc, it would appear that socialist knows his stuff. The only dictatorship or one party rule that is happening is the gop since obama was elected by the people.

the situation with the upper what 400 richest people owning over half of everything in this country can no way hold up for the long haul. Something will have to give imo. The redistribution of wealth in this country is pretty evident of how and who made that happen and its not obama. imo
