True -- get everyone thinking of/afraid of things like that, so they can't concentrate on what's REALLY happening.
Fear is also used as a distraction, West Nile Virus, SARS, Swine Flu, Etc.
Isn't this called propaganda? See it/hear it often enough, you begin to believe it!! Seems that Hitler rose to power via propaganda.

I can give you another example. Fox news. Repeat, Deflect and Deny. Fox brags about their brainwashing abilities and intentionally incorporates them into their network. Just watch and listen and then tell me Im wrong. Or better yet, research it.
I watched a thing yesterday afternoon. It was about psychology, but more about how easy it is to manipulate people and groups of people. "Conformity".
The constructed at least 3 experiments. In the first one, a guy on a busy street began to stare into a big tree. He was really studying this tree. (There are numerous camera angles filming the whole thing.) People begin to look up as they approach. Finally, some guy asks, "what are you looking at?" The guy claims he is looking at a snake and starts to give random directions on where to look into the tree to see it. Before long, the other guy "see's" the snake. More people gather, ask what they are looking at, and they too begin to see the snake.
Bottom line is, there was no snake. People so much want to be included and people typically want to comply with rules.
Next experiment was about following lines on the floor, like there are to find exits or certain stores in a shopping mall. This particular line walked around the mall, around pylons, back and forth in the walking lanes. The majority of people followed the lines, step for step. The lines ended up in a big line of people (It was a set up) patiently awaiting their turn to move again..... again, camera angles from everywhere, and it was odd that people could see that the lines walked around a trash can then changed directions, yet the people walked the line, step for step...
The 3rd seemed off point to me but I found it amusing. There was a guy walking around in a straight jacket. (Just like the looney bin type straight jacket.) His arms were bound, the thing had 20 buckles and straps... no way this guy could escape, and he kind of gave you the impression that "all was not well". Another guy was dressed in a real nice suit, carrying a brief case. This guy was purposely walking against the grain of walking traffic, walking down the up escalator.
The guy walking around in the straight jacket got about 10% of the negative attention (people glaring, pointing fingers, being talked too) than the guy in the suit. People held doors for the guy in a straight jacket, and shut doors on the guy in a suit.
Pretty interesting....

I totally agree with you guys. It just goes to show how easily we can be controlled. I believe in the destined day to be born, and to die or it would drive me nuts. Not much we can do about it either I suspect.

Ever read the Shock Doctrine ? You don't have to like the author to see the truth about how easy it is to push agendas by using shock, which could be called sudden fear.

I couldn't see it any other way. Both sides do a good job scaring the $hit out of everyone on their own, but when they get started on the opposing side??? It is all fear, all doom and gloom!
