Ryder and I visited a Synagogue yesterday. It's an 1800's one and of historical significance...from when our area was settled. I was talking to a women there that is sort of a caretaker and explains the historical journey of the Jews - this particular Synagogue was built by Russian Jews, my ancestors on my mothers side. Anyway, this women was telling me about the hatred the Jews faced and we were discussing what it must of been like for them. I made the comment that I was happy we had come so far since then in accepting each other. Her face got quite a sad look to it and she told me some stories of things that have been done by hate groups here in Calgary against their Synagogues and others. It makes me sad, so very very sad that this kind of thing continues. We all worry so much about fights and wars with other countries. If we can't get along with each other in our own country, how do we ever expect to understand other cultures and religions well enough to avoid wars with them. I don't get it, I really don't.
I wish I could look up my province and city. I bet it would shock me. I know they exist here unfortunately. I think they should all go buy their own little deserted island and live there where they don't have to be "exposed" to those they hate. Just go away.
I'm surprised that we only have 2 hate groups here. Idaho and Montana is full of wackos and we somehow only have 2??? I question that.
Most of the people in this state are very genuine, good hearted people. Some have that special brand of ignorance that is bred only in compounds and or religious sects.
