I think if you look at the "first do no harm" stance and take it from there it shouldnt be anyones business at all. But we cannot allow children suffering and dying due to neglect either. I have been healed and do know first hand it works. I also believe the medical profession was given its knowledge from god to be used to heal as well. But the nuts will cause problems for us eventually as far as the law goes...

Well, what can I say. I dont want anyone telling me how to practice my faith. I answer to God not to them. The God I worship says to obey the laws of the land unless they go against Gods word (like telling you to worship a false god or to kill someone or to steal or lie etc..). God says to do good and be kind etc...
but what about someone else who says their god says to sacrifice their children? (it has happened before--I think its India where people still throw their babies to their death as a sacrifce to some god--).
The other thing is this, what if those parents took their kids the doctors and they still died? No one can say they would not have died for sure. Doctors cant always save everyone and they have those cases they cant explain where the patient was in great health and doing well --got the green light from a doctor only to drop dead. How about the cases doctors said the person was a gonner and suddenly there was a miracle and the person was healed and doctors cant explain it but admit they had nothing to do with it? I dont like that these people did not get help for their kids, but because a few rare cases happen, why take away the rights of the majority? This is off the subject a bit, but this woman I know who is elderly, had a terribly curved spine. Her parents could not afford a doctor, so guess what they did. They burried her in sand on the beach every day. Guess what she ended up cured and doing well and is now old and laughs about how now adays her parents would be arrested for practicing without a license or abuse. People are freaking out everywhere and passing laws everywhere to stop take away our rights due to a few nuts. Its not right.

I absolutely agree with you. Case in point. My da married a JW. She has three kids, he has 3 kids. She was raised christian, he was born into JW . They do not (JW), believe in blood transfusion, something about the lifesource in blood. In fact they will let a loved one die before they submit to a transfusion. So legally, should they be held accountable for denying a life saving measure and someone dies. Yes imo.

I agree wholeheartedly with Iladvocate.  If an adult makes that choice and are of sound mind, it's up to them and I don't think others should interfere.  However, I do not believe the same rules should apply for a child. Nothing wrong at all with using a faith healer, but I don't think science should be ignored either.  I would do the same as Narla and use everything available to me.  I think they can work together.  Besides, isn't it possible that the gift of healing and knowledge was given to our Dr's and for a reason?

Yes that's a complex one. I support faith based recovery but its of concern when life saving medical care is available and necessary and not given if its a child (if its an adult, its their decision). This is a really complex one and should be decided on a case by case basis. Realistically since this is a complex ethical issue it should go to the Supreme Court (which I believe has ruled on some aspects of it before). However I do consider it hypocritical that Oregon is ruling on this since they have legalized physician assisted suicide which I have my concerns about and am in many ways opposed to. Either way the two laws conflict.

You are soooo right when you mention a opening of that can of worms. You got that right. It starts.

Very Interesting,
We do have to put faith in doctors that treat our kids,
Some prefer to put that faith in God.

How many people have been given a wrong diagnosis by the doctors we have faith in.

Can of worms opening up here.

Personally I would use everything available,God,doctors,alternative medicine,whatever I could
