Joe Biden admits gun control will not stop mass shootings or save lives

"Joe Biden was caught on camera in Washington saying that new gun control laws will not prevent another mass shooting or lower the number of gun deaths. Yet the President and Biden are telling us that we MUST pass gun control even if it saves just one life."

You can also find it on Youtube. Keep in mind this is coming from a man that just asked Senators to risk their careers. At least Harry Reid displayed some common since.

I thin this is another of those issues where they need to meet somewhere in the middle. And if its just the high power assault weapons, smaller mags, Im for that if it saves the amount of carnage that happens. I keep remembering how the one little girl had 10 bullet holes. OMG, I just cannot deal with that image and it is so needless to be sure. Like I said, I am all for gun rights but that? I just cannot wrap my head around why we feel we need these things in our society. Know what I mean? My guess is there will be compromise on this because people want something done and both entities know it must be addressed and neither will get everything they want.

I totally understand what you are saying.  There is a lot of truth in the next couple of statements though that need to be taken into consideration.  There are laws already that prevent one from carrying a gun in churches, schools and the likes.  Most people with permits to carry do not make it a habit of having it known that they are carrying.  Chances are, you've stood next to someone in the line at the grocery store who was carrying and not known it.

It's a difficult situation, but we can and have to do better than what is really being considered.

Honestly, I can see both sides of this issue to a point. I know, I know, but I can. I can understand how gun owners would feel penalized when they have committed no wrongdoing and on the other side I can understand where people feel we need to have some limits. Most people think we need the limits because just the thought of everyone running around in society, toting a gun is not an image of America or a reality that we want to have.Being raised in a time where you didnt need to lock your doors when you ran to do errends to what that image poses is just not a nice image imo. And I dont want them around the schools, the church, the bars, everyone packing doesnt deter the criminal either imo.

Ha ha.  I just laugh because people talk about Biden being a future president.  He's as bad as Romney getting caught on tape chit chatting away.

I personally think had Lanza's mother NOT had that automatic weapon in her possession, that her son would have used what she had.  And fewer kids would have died.

In those cases, I do believe a ban would make a difference.  And even one instance is enough for me.

Biden admitting that this will not stop the next mass shooting proves that he isn't brain dead.  That somewhat impressed me until he said "but if it saves even one life" proves that he barely has a pulse.  "One life" isn't measurable unless you count today as saving one life.  (But using that logic, they saved one yesterday and the day before that.)

They've got to do better.  Criminals aren't going to follow legal pathways into gun ownership.  That's where they need to focus, not on citizens who have the right to possess arms.

Well I dont trust the government either, and I dont trust a bunch of people running around society with guns when you figure half the us has mental issues the way it is. We have lived all this time without all the guns amongst us and I dont like the thought of everyone Im standing next to having a gun and on antidepressants as well. Know what I mean?

I have a lot of friends both Democrats and Republicans. The consensus is, we don’t trust our Government
(I’m not talking about Obama, I’m talking about our Government as a whole).
We feel if we give them an inch, they’ll take a mile so the best thing to do is not give them an inch. I have no use for an AR and could do more damage with my Glock 44 or Remington 270 with the Nikon Scope than anyone with an AR anyway. But, I’m not about to budge and crack that door open for them. They can’t run with it unless we give them the first step.

"It will however make it harder to get hold of em, ya think?"  Yeah, as long as the criminals obey the law and quit selling them to each other...........lol

Some of us have been saying this all along.  Mass killings are already illegal and in my opinion, it's unreasonable to think criminals and mentally ill people will obey any new laws, any better than they obey existing laws.

And look at Christopher Dorner; a former cop and he's killed 3 people, so far; probably prepared to kill  more.... is putting a new law on the books going to stop him?  I don't think so.
