Jon Stewart Rips Media For Ignoring Ron Paul

Jon Stewart Rips Media For Ignoring Ron Paul
“In the aftermath of the Iowa straw poll this week past weekend, the media universally declared a “new top tier” was in effect for the Republican field, except the second place finisher, Ron Paul, was seemingly excluded from this tier across the board.
Jon Stewart didn’t let this oversight slide. In the clip below, Stewart took the media to task for failing to give even a hat tip to Ron Paul’s second place finish in the straw poll. Ron Paul was just shy of the top spot, yet conservative commentators pretended like he wasn’t even a contender.
Was Stewart really trying to be fair, and does he respect Ron Paul’s consistency? Or was this just a subtle attempt to distract from other Republican candidates thought to be more “electable” on a nationwide scale?”
You be the judge, but enjoy the hilarious video, courtesy of the Daily Show:

I think the reason people think he is the father or grandfather of the teaparty is because years ago he held an event that had something to do with the teaparty. I think someone representing the teaparty even approached Ron Paul for donations to the teaparty and the person who was asking for donations had not ever heard of Ron Paul. lol  I dont think he agrees with what the so called teaparty is doing. I was on his website one day and he was asking his followers to come up with some dirt on Perry for him. LOL, he is already delegating others to do his own dirty work! Smart man! But you can go to his website and he will tell ya where he stands on issues.

I’m not a supporter of him but he is a force to be reckoned with. I just find it strange that both CNN and Fox are going out of their way to ignore him.

I heard somewhere he was the father of the tea party too.  But then I saw an interview with another guy (who isn't running, can't remember his name) who was also being referred to as the father of the tea party.  It surprised me to hear that about Ron Paul.  I mean, I only have seen a couple of interviews, and of course the debates, but he didn't seem quite as extreme to me as some of the others.  And what I liked is that he really did seem to focus on the big issues (ie: economy, etc) as opposed to some of the little nit picky things.

Ron Paul has been ignored. I have to agree with that statement altho it didnt take watching stewart for me to feel that way. I dont watch him, period. But I did notice that he only lost behind Bachmann in the Iowas Straw pole by a couple hundred points and it was like he wasnt even in the race. Yes, media bias I agreee. He is a libertarian and actually it has been said that he is the father of the teaparty.Actually I dont know or care one way or the other and I dont care for him personally, I think he is pretty radical and nonsensical in some of his beliefs but do understand how people are drawn to him. Makes alot more sense than most and has the same values as your so called teapartiers but will be the first one to call them on the carpet. Could this be why they dont want his voice heard I wonder. Its all politics and yes I had noticed. And if and when he does get the attention he deserves, he will be a force to be reckoned with. He bucks the establishment and that is what worries them. He is not a yes man and highly doubt he signs pledges altho Im not sure. I would not vote for anyone signing a pledge to anyone for anything.

Age will keep Ron Paul from getting votes, guaranteed.  With Romney, I've seen him go back and forth on some of the issues in the past, so that concerns me about him.  This Huntsman is someone that a buddy of mine told me to research.  (My buddy is a giant lib out of Utah.)  I think this guy is a sheep in wolves clothing....

Oh, I got called a chauvanist yesterday because I hadn't hopped on the Bachmann train.

Well, you know I am probably as left as they come and still maintain that I like your current President.  However, gotta say, I like Ron Paul as a Republican candidate. If it was me voting, it would be him or Mitt Romney.  You never hear anything about him though.  I have seen a few interviews with him, and he is just so middle of the road on social issues...none of the extremism you see from a few of the others.  He just seems to be a super good guy, and fair.  I also haven't heard him doing nearly as much finger pointing as other politicians in general do.  I was perplexed as to why he was being virtually ignored and they only thing I could come up with is that being 75, perhaps most think he doesn't have a shot?

I also like Jon Stewart (no big surprise I'm sure..lol), and yes he has been quite critical of the President.  In all honesty, I find him to be critical and complimentary (although not nearly as often..ha) right across the board.  He is an interesting character to be sure.

I didn't go to the link, but wanted to comment on Jon Stewart.  I really used to like the guy until he appeared to be a lefty.  He was bashing anyone on the other side of the political spectrum and defending any debacle coming from the left.  His adoration of Obama while on the campaign trail was close to being far too much.  (It had all of the looks of a love affair...)

A few weeks ago I saw his show and he was being critical of the president.  I couldn't figure out of he was indeed being critical of the president or just being sarcastic.

On paper alone, (actually his quotes above) he is trying to legitimize Ron Paul.  I find that interesting as well.  As your question above states, was he trying to be fair or is he trying to create some kind of distraction?

(I've got a democrat friend who registers at the polls as a republican and votes for the least likely candidate to win, potentially getting that person elected so the democrat on the other side can easily defeat him....then at the general election she votes democrat. regardless of the election whether it be local, state, or federal, this is how she conducts business.
