The liquor industry has become the latest victim of a government shutdown in Minnesota.

The Minneapolis Star Tribune reported Tuesday that bars, restaurants and stores are already running out of supplies because many of them must renew their $20 state-issued alcohol purchasing cards before replenishing inventories.
Already 425 establishments have been left with expired cards and it’s just expected to get worse. Another 116 cannot buy liquor because they can’t pay their delinquent tax bills.
“This is going to treadmill across the whole state the longer [the Republican lawmakers] hold out,” Democratic Gov. Mark Dayton told the paper. “It’s going to hit every bar and restaurant that needs a liquor license.”
“This doesn’t just affect retailers, but wholesalers, and the manufacturers, and wedding parties, and church functions, and one day liquor licenses for charity events, and festivals and the list goes on and on and on,” Minnesota Licensed Beverage Association’s Frank Ball told KARE 11.
If the issue isn’t resolved by Labor Day, cigarette smokers could be in the same situation

Well, I was actually comparing the evil one to Michele. Not that I think she is evil like he was, but I do think she has this sort of "ideal world" in her mind and she is willing to use any power she gets to make it happen.
Outlaw abortion, outlaw gay marriage and gay rights (which in my mind would be outlawing equal rights), no pornography (we already have laws with regards to kiddie porn, I'm talking the regular adult stuff). She seems to be trying to take what most consider personal morals and making them law.
Probably a better comparison would be how much of the Middle East is govern...through religious law. The women is scary scary. I just think she doesn't have much of a chance. I mean, most Republicans I know are way more middle ground then that. And then there are the Independants who, if I am correct, tend to be very in the middle, no?

Trust me, if the Right wasn't there to stop him, we'd all be singing "Obama, Obama über alles..." sooner rather than later!

If there is not Government active in MINN, there are no licensing rules to abide by right?
I'm sure she is good with this. I am pretty sure she is anti smoking/drinking as well. As far as I can tell, her goal is a perfect society from a moral perspective....hmmm...wasn't there another leader at one point in history that also had a vision of his own perfect society? Me seems to think it didn't go over so well....
