Miracle

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/michele-bachmann-expected-quit-presidential-race-following-poor-161724564.html

Just yesterday or the day before, Michelle Bachmann was predicting a "miracle" in reference to winning the Iowa Straw Poll, and today she announces she's out of the race.  (Miraculous in it's own right)  I did find it interesting that she had 8 times as much support as Huntsman but yet he is still hanging in there.

Who's next to back out?  Perry?

According to the above poll, Huntsman garnered only 1% of the votes.  Under what criteria would he stay in the race?  There's been speculation that he doesn't have the money that any of the other candidates do.

What will be interesting to see will be who the GOP candidate picks as his VP running mate.

Speaking of speculation, there's been a rumor going around that the President is going to move Hillary into the VP spot and have Biden step into her role..... Are people really that disenfranchised with Joe Biden or will the thought of the worlds first female American VP make all of the "history makers" jump back on the democrats side?

“I think Bachmann is holding out for a VP Ticket with Romney”
I don’t think that will happen unless the Republicans want to throw the election again.

More than likely Biden will not get dumped now that Obama has finally got a muzzle over his mouth.

I think Bachmann is holding out for a VP Ticket with Romney. Yes Im serious, she has not dogged this one much, at least not like the others. I also dont think Obama will dump Biden. I do think they operate as a team and there is loyalty there I think. Palin? oh joy! rofl! Surely not! Good way to lose this election too! I am impressed with Santorum as he has no money and got his fame the old fashioned way (working for it). Paul, may as well drop out imo. His foreign policy will keep him from ever being elected.

Hillary Clinton swears: Being secretary of state is her last political job.
Really.

Clinton, 63, told CNN Wednesday she will not serve another term overseeing the State Department, even if President Obama wins reelection in 2012.

She also said she has no interest in any other government positions after she leaves.

Clinton has been mentioned as a possible successor to Defense Secretary Robert Gates, who has told Obama he is stepping down this year.

She quickly quashed the speculation, flatly answering "no" when asked if she was interested in being secretary of defense, vice president or President.

Cain as Secretary of Defense?
Can't you hear him talking to an International community referencing Pokemon?

Yes, I saw the interview with Cain. The insanity just won't stop. He reiterated his desire to be the Secretary of Defense. It's such a ridiculous notion that I can barely even imagine it - Cain as Secretary of Defense.

I missed Bachman's speech last night, but did see a brief interview with her the day before.  She said that she thought she would win Iowa, and also said that regardless, she would be in New Hampshire.  Interesting that she is getting out, although clearly there was not much hope there.

I did catch Perry's speech last night after the Iowa cacaus.  He said that he was going home to Texas to "reevaluate".  I got the impression he would be pulling out as well.

On an interesting note...did anyone else catch Piers Morgan's interview with Herman Cain?  The man in back.  Not as a GOP candidate, but saying that he is launching a "movement" to take back Washington.  Details to be announced late this week.

As for VP...the only name I have heard come up at this point in the GOP race is Sarah Palin believe it or not.  Mentioned by Gingrich.  Blew my mind actually to hear him say that.
