Mitt Romney Lies about Jeep shipping jobs to China

Mitt Romney, attempting to bolster his case to Ohio voters, misinterpreted a story and passed on an outright lie at a rally in the swing state yesterday. Reacting to a Bloomberg News story about auto manufacturer Chrysler’s plans to open a plant in China, Romney said at a rally in Defiance, Ohio that the company was “thinking of moving all production to China,” and that he would prevent such action by fighting for “every good job in America”:
“I saw a story today that one of the great manufacturers in this state, Jeep — now owned by the Italians — is thinking of moving all production to China,” Romney said at a rally in Defiance, Ohio, home to a General Motors powertrain plant. “I will fight for every good job in America. I’m going to fight to make sure trade is fair, and if it’s fair America will win.”
The Bloomberg News story, however, doesn’t say that Chrysler plans to move “all production to China.” Instead, it says that Fiat, which now owns Chrysler, is planning to open Chinese factories where it will make one of its most popular lines, Jeep, for Chinese consumers. Chrysler isn’t planning to shift production away from the United States. Instead, it will add factories in China to keep up with the nation’s growing demand for automobiles:
Chrysler currently builds all Jeep SUV models at plants in Michigan, Illinois and Ohio. Manley referred to adding Jeep production sites rather than shifting output from North America to China.
“That he would take an article that just described a global expansion and not a shift in jobs and use it to try to get Ohio votes, or to scare people into voting for him, is just another example of why you can’t trust this man,” former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm said on a conference call today.
Romney has often struggled with facts about the auto industry. Though he now claims the auto bailout was his idea, his plan to let the private sector finance the bankruptcies of Chrysler and General Motors was “reckless” and “pure fantasy,” according to auto industry insiders. By some estimates, it could have cost more than 1 million American jobs.

Obama and Romney are both liars. You literally can NOT be a politician and not be a liar. They have to try to "appease" everyone, and you can't do that unless you lie to SOMEONE.
Obama flat out LIED in the last debate about Romney's approach with the auto industry and what he did for education in Mass. Lied right to everyone, even insisting everyone check the record, which I proved, in the other thread, that Romney was indeed, correct.

I speak for myself when I say, I'm a realist. I'm not blind, and I do NOT think the President is perfect. I support him because his policies are what I believe in. IF there was proof that Obama was Bold face Lying, I'd be VERY disappointed and I'd probably not be voting this election...

I did know that and there is a giant market within the junk yards.... It is amazing what they can buy a wrecked/"totaled" car for and then turn a giant profit on.
And did you know that the majority of insurance companies use after market parts and parts from a junkyard. Very very few actually use original parts and when you sign up for your insurance, in the fine print is where you will find that you are agreeing to that little tidbit. You cannot even request original parts anymore. Sad it is.
Absolutely I know and understand that. It is almost impossible to find a part of a car that is not made in a foreign country. Been that way for years, and... the auto industry is behind that as well. (Kind of interesting to think of all of the manufacturing jobs lost because of this, but this has to do with "fair trade agreements" made with these foreign countries.)

It’s worse than you think. I ordered a Fuel Gauge from Harley Davidson and was heart broken when I noticed “Made In China” on the back of it. I could understand if this would have been an after market part but it was a Harley Davidson part.

I'm surprised that he didn't bring up GM building plants in China. That is an American company that is building plants and supplying jobs in a foreign country.... somehow though, thats no big deal.

This is what happens I guess when you refuse to let facts get in the way. I heard this yesterday and my jaw dropped. I could not believe he even said that. If he is doing this during a campaign to get into office, what really worries me is what is he going to do in abusing his power once in office? Sorry, this guy gives me the willies. Why did he do it? because undecideds don't keep up with current affairs and would most likely take it at face value. In other words it works. Darn I will be glad when this is over. Early voting started in fl so Im voting today and getting it done with.
