I agree that the US has its hands dirty in this one. We turned back a shipload of Jewish immigrants from Germany. They ended up in death camps.
Bin Laden got his start from the US. Ever see Charlie Wilson's War? Bin Laden got extremely radical because of US troops being stationed in Saudi Arabia.
I just want people to realize that the Nazis are alive and well. Their "work" continues in the Middle East.
Yes what they stated was historically truthful (before the holocaust Hitler actually had active plans to deport the Jewish people in Europe to Palestine). However they did not mention that the United States supported the Mujahadeen (because they were anti-communist) who when the Soviets left Afghanistan became the Taliban. Also there was U.S. support for the Baath Party (because they were anti-communist as well) who later installed Saddam Hussein. That much I've pointed out in other threads but it would just confirm that global interventionism is often unwarranted but that concept has been noted by groups that were conservative as well. Much of what is occurring now is an extension of the cold war where the United States and the then Soviet Union used third world countries as political pawns. Before the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan (which we fought by supporting the Mujahadeen, who were not really our allies but fanatics) Afghanistan was a democracy and women had full civil rights and those were just opposition groups that did not have power. Its complex as to what we should have done (in the long run communism being economically unworkable fell apart on its own) but hindsight is 20/20.
