I just heard of this woman's death, was it not on the news? I believe the owner had given the chimp Xanax. I have to agree the chimps owner was a little odd, and a little too close to the chimp. But we can't judge her, the chimp was all she had which is also sad. The victim is an incredible person to push on and have no bitterness. I feel so bad for what she has endured, and what lies ahead for her. It is a sad situation for everyone. But as others have said it was a wild animal and they are unpredictable.
No offense taken. I think it is sooo sad. For all involved. If I remember right she had given the chimp something like ativan the day it happened for agitation. It sounds like the medication made it worse. Regardless, it was a wild animal and should have never been put in that position to begin with. This victim was friends with the chimps owner and frequently visited. They literally did not see it coming! My heart goes out to Barbera Nash! She is attending her daughters high school graduation, and it will be her first outing since the incident. Wow! I cannot even imagine, and she has no bitterness whatsoever. Wow!
It is very sad. I'm a gonna say it and I hope that I offend no one. The women who owned the chimp was a little on the odd side. Her pet drove her car and smoked! And he showed signs of a temper before the incident happened. If I watched my dog that I absolutely adored brutally attack my friend and almost kill her------- I wouldn't probably go on national television and say I'd do it all over again. I get it was like her son . . . but it was not her son. Suffering two very profound losses in her life made her more attached to the chimp. But her friend . . .
But she has passed. She had a broken heart and the victim is left trying to cope with life now. She was released from the Cleveland Clinic but resides at another hospital now. She can't feed herself. She has a daughter graduating high school and hopes to attend the ceremony. It will be her first real time amongst people.
So, I agree completely. I sad situation for everyone.
