Tea party boosts Perry to top of GOP polls

Texas Governor Rick Perry has vaulted into the lead among Republicans vying for the nomination to oppose  President Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election bid, according to several new  polls. And he may have the Tea Party to thank for it.

Didn't take it as an insult.  And you know, the reality is, what happens here impacts us here.  In a pretty big way.  The US HAS to stay the dominant super power in the world.  Yeah, it's wrong to lean so heavily I guess, but I live in the real world, and in the real world, the democratic west needs the US to stay in control.  

But not giving up on that vote.  Gonna write someone (not sure who) complaining about this discrimination against Canadians...got a new cause!!! Yay!

But El lives here and has chosen not to get his citizenship for whatever reason. He is from Canada tho.....I guess its a blessing in disquise that he isnt voting since he is for the opposition anyways. lol

Truly, and as much as Margy hates my opinions politically, she really does love me. Tis why she hangs around. We started out together didnt we margy? I can keep the circulation going and at our age, that is a good thing! lol

Actually, I do love the US.  I am very pro American.  Yeah, it comes second to Canada, but that's pretty natural I think.  But I want to see the US prosper and be strong.  Don't wanna live there..lol, but then again, don't wanna live anywhere but home.

Well if being kind to people and respecting them in spite of not agreeing with them is palling, I can take that. Its not about being left or right. I refuse to pick a party and overlook everything they do just to be loyal to a party.

Respectfully I say this.  It's because most of us actually like each other.  Yeah, we disagree on a whole lot of different issues, but respect each others opinions.  It's not sitting on a wall...it's listening to what others have to say and really hearing it.  It's how problems really get solved.  The taking a stance with no flexibility is kind of the problem in the gov't isn't it?  At least that is how I see it.  It's ok to like someone you disagree with.  Keeps life interesting.

Well, I am a proud lefty.  Funny thing is though, that label really only applies cause it seems you either have to be right or left.  Truth of the matter is, I'm probably more in the middle.  I don't think Obama walks on water (but yes, I like him), but don't really fit totally with what the right believes in (mainly social issues)...so where does that leave someone like me?  Probably like the majority I think.  And I am betting that description of me fits the majority in here..just with different issues involved.  So maybe your right Margy...you are for sure the most extreme right winger in here.  Is that what you mean?  Trying to understand your feelings on the issue, not be sarcastic.  

And I still think I should get a vote!!  I call discrimination cause I'm Canadian..think that will fly??  lol

   Let's put this in perspective by imagining we're on a damaged, sinking cruise liner: The owners are abandoning ship. The ships' officers are blaming each other for the calamity. The crew is idle while waiting for orders. The 1st class passengers are debating over who should be in charge of bailing water.
