Search on for abducted Mom

Breaking News! Police execute search warrants at the home of missing mom Venus Stewart’s estranged husband! According the warrants, an “apparent blood stain” was found on the front driver’s side door of the husband’s car! Also in the truck, investigators find a Walmart receipt for a “shovel, tarp, cap and gloves.” Is Venus Stewart’s estranged husband's alibi crumbling?

On average an abused women leaves her partner 11 times before she leaves for good.  Often they leave with children in tow and the clothes on their back.  They wind up in the shelter system and/or on welfare.  For many it can be even tougher to leave then it is to stay.  This is one of those areas where I believe society can do more to help.  We need more programs such as job training and subsidized daycare to help them get out of the problem. From a legal perspective we also need to get much tougher on the abuser.  Very few every actually get jail time, at least not until the victim is killed. Shelters and restraining orders just don't cut it.

We also need to teach our children (good for you Dazon!!).  Those of us with sons need to have fathers in their life that set a good example and to be brought up to respect women.  I can tell you if my son ever mistreats women (or anyone) I will kick his bum myself.  Often these abusers come from homes where their mother was mistreated or abused themselves.  It's a cycle that needs to be broken.  This story is so tragic.  Even more so if it was her husband, as it could have been prevented.

It would be good if families taught their children more about life and what "red flags" are in relationships when abusive signs/treatments are there, whether hinted at, fleetingly displayed, etc...in other words, the subtle signs that alert a person there is something amiss.

I know I took time to teach both girls (almost 8 yrs. apart in age) about a lot of things like this.  On one hand, I didn't want to "scare" them, but I wanted them to be prepared and have some idea of how to protect themselves and watch out for things (preventive).

Unfortunately, society being what it is, spends $ on special interests and not into preventive care whether in the health industry or in private.  Violence is increasing and self-control ...Ha.....disappearing as people are angry at ???? and take it out on others in a split-second of reacting without thinking.

This isn't an easy situation and whether it was the husband or someone else, it is tragic as there are children now without a Mommy.

There are so many of these awful domestic violence /murders... I remember the dreadful one about the pregant mom ...all the more reason women should get away from an abusive husbands so may times they are too forgiving and murder ensues ..I see the forgiving attitudes a lot on the abuse forum ...
