Thanks so much for the prayers. My parents were in their basement for about 4 hours before they were downgraded from Red Alert to Watch. The weather has just been so weird of late. Yes, the area they live in does see the odd Tornado, but this year, and last year have been crazy. Not sure yet what kind of damage the storm did. It's just after 8 am here, and my little guy and I just finished breakfast, so time to turn on the news.
We are supposed to feel the hurricane as well..probably sunday or monday they are saying. On the East coast, so no where near me or any of my family, but still, I hope everyone is ok.
All of you living in the areas that may get hit...please stay safe. And thanks again for the prayers. I do appreciate it.
Adgal I am reading this hours after you posted, I pray all is well. Yes the Hurricane could affect you in Canada as well. We lucked out for the time being here in Florida but the coast needs to be on alert as this is a massive storm and I understand brings storm surge with it. Tornados and the like are common. We here will even get wind off her to some degree even as far out in the Atlantic as she is from us. I tell you what tho, I will take a hurricane anyday over a Tornado. I can outrun a hurricane, with a Tornado the damage is just as bad with little warning. I hope all are safe!!
Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Yup, you're right. She looks like she's headed toward me here in New England. Just hoping she gets weaker like they "think" and goes away!
My prayers are with your grandparents. Try to keep in touch with them as much as possible...Hang in there!
oohhh goodness do you often get Tornado's there ,my thoughts and prayers are with your parents .I heard on the news the hurricane Irene picked up again in strength and is headed on a directory for the Hamptons .on Long Island ..
I should add...a neighboring town was decimated by a large tornado on Saturday. The same town is under this red alert warning as well. It's so darned scary. The area this alert is covering is huge..this is one massive storm.
