·The woman is a Liar.
· Locks for Love requirements “10 inches measured tip to tip is the minimum length needed for a hairpiece.” http://locksoflove.org/donate.html
She claims he wants to donate it to Locks for Love in a few months. The type of hair this child has would take years to grow 10” and he would look like he was raised by a pack of wolves. This is just another situation where someone is desperate their 15 minutes of fame. What makes this even more pathetic is, the parents are willing to sacrifice their child to get it.

I'd just like to know are the girls allowed to have long hair and wear earrings?
If they are then I'm surprised the parents aren't suing for sex descrimination.

The thing is, these parents are doing their kid any favors at all.  To teach a young child that the rules in life do not apply to him/her is to set them up for a world of problems down the road.  It's an elitist attitude.  Nothing wrong with disagreeing with a certain rule or law (it's how so many changes in society have been made, both good and bad), but you have to work through the appropriate channels to try to change them.  You can't just say, this is dumb, so I'm not doing it.  Life doesn't work that way.

I always have to laugh when I see things like this and sadly, it happens all too often. 'My child is "special" and doesn't have to follow that rule' tends to be the going trend these days. Where do these people get such a sense of entitlement? that the rules don't matter and they can do as they please. oye.

Well part of the problem these days is that everyone thinks their kids are unique and special. Adults too for that matter. A rule is a rule is a rule. Abide by the rules or go elsewhere. Where did that message get lost?

First of all, who let's their 5/6 yr old son were an earring? never mind a diamond earring...These parents are full of themselves. If the rules say no earrings and hair needs to be a proper length or whatever have you, then there should be NO argument...Rules are there for a reason!

I'd agree that this does look a little bit like mom and dad are saying that little Johnny is special and the rules don't apply.  What I don't understand is, this can't be the schools only problem, so how does this make the news and the other stuff doesn't?

The kids shouldnt be in trouble.
This is a classic example of parents teaching kids to disrespect rules.
