Thank you for that clarification
Hey guys I'm not supporting their view, I was simply trying to explain it from my limited experience.
I'm against censorship in general and think people do need to grow up and realize that fiction is simply that~ fiction.
Yes, they should get over it and maybe think that sharing aloha is a good thing !
I'm offended by the thought that something I think may be used in a manner other than its intended manner. To think that someone could take the purest of my thoughts and use them in a negative fashion is a little more than I can stand. I need to sue someone.
Actually, years ago I invented 'sour cream in a squeeze bottle". I'd say that you could ask my mom for proof, but she took that secret with her when she left this life. Just yesterday, I saw sour cream in one of those squeeze butter/margarine bottles. That was not my intent. My intent was smaller tubes only slightly larger than a tooth paste tube and it would come with different applicator tips. I think the company was 'Cream o Weber'. I'll be contacting an attorney, not for a copy right infringement. For offending me.... I am deeply offended.
1. It is not connected to the military
2. It is a movie
3. It's a WORD
But in the end really, who cares what they think.
"Native Hawaiians make up about 21 percent of the state's population, according to the Office of Hawaiian Affairs"
"Some Native Hawaiians disapprove of the name of a movie filmed and set in Hawaii, saying that titling it "Aloha" is a disrespectful misappropriation of culture "
Break out the Sugar T!TTs we havea few more whiners coning out otthe closet
Having lived in Hawaii I can understand the locals not liking the word aloha being used for anything connected to the military.
Aloha in Hawaii is used as a kind of loving welcoming, to have aloha is the opposite of anything having to do with wars.
After years of being welcoming to outsiders Hawaiians are experiencing a kind of backlash, logical or not.
Hollywood steps all over cultures of all kinds and people should remember that movies are fictitious fantasies not reality.
