More people that need to be locked up.

These people are one of the root causes of the financial melt down. If they had rated these things properly this wouldn't have happened.  It was a long article so I only copied a portion of it.  Police, firefighters and teachers lost billions in their pensions because of these people. I really would like to see some of these key people rot in prison.

copy & paste
In the lead up to the financial meltdown, Wall Street firms routinely exerted influence on the nation’s largest credit rating companies— which judge the quality and safety of bonds—and the companies often surrendered to the pressure, according to the results of a Senate investigation.

The rating companies, Standard & Poor’s and Moody’s, regularly awarded generous grades to thousands of mortgage-related investments that later collapsed and precipitated the financial crisis. Investors rely on the raters’ assessments in deciding what to buy and sell.

But an examination, conducted by the Senate’s Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, uncovered internal e-mails and documents that describe the raters as “beholden” to investment banks—firms the raters referred to as their “clients.”

It is maddening to see that most of these people won't have to face charges for the damage their actions have done to countless of lives.  In trying to understand it, I found myself thinking how important it is to carefully consider who is affected by our decisions and to be careful in making them.

So much of life bears witness to the way what one or more persons do affects others.  One example is in a war.  It is a domino effect that keeps going until something counters it to reverse the effects.  Some pass it off by saying what doesn't make you breaks you or when life deals you lemons you can choose to make lemonade out it or pucker up with sourness.  However, the toll of stress is seen with shortened lives, illnesses, as well as suicide in some cases.  I don't think the people responsible for the melt-down thought too deeply or cared enough about that.

Well, they should hang. I do not understand why this continues to go on and no one seems willing to make em pay the price for it.

Just think...they get to hide behind others skirts and in their mansions, jet-setting to warmer climates and being waited on while others worry about what they are going to eat, how they are going to pay for their bills and keep their home or not have their credit ruined....so on.

If those men/women who were responsible for the melt-down had to enter into the individual lives, see it on the macro and micro scale day in and out & live like them...do you think it would make a difference?  Should that be part of a sentence?

I believe in mercy and forgiveness, and I believe we will answer for our choices....for some the later doesn't come fast enough.
