"Aren't they those ones that turned on our soldiers not too long ago?"  Yup, same folks and this just goes to show you what we are really up against there.  The people who don't want us there REALLY don't want us there and will continue to find ways to get at our troops.  For the families of those troops, I feel for them.... "

So in a sense, the war does go on....More lives at stake....I don't like it one bit...

Wait a minute.  It doesn't mean that the war will be that long (although there is probably a better chance that it will considering the civility of the people who stand in opposition of what we are trying to accomplish.).  It just means that we'll have troops there.  We've still got troops in all of the countries I mentioned in the above post.  I'd guess that this will be no different with the amount of civil discord there is in the area.

I understand that Brice..really, I do. HOWEVER, a war that's 30+ yrs long??? I guess this is my progressive side kicking in..I just can't....If it REALLY is in the BEST interest of the country, then fine. It's a pill i along will the rest pf America that feels the same way will have to swallow. I just feel for those military families. I don't want anymore unnecessary blood shed. I mean they want to stay and train the afghan troops, aren't they those one that turned on our soldiers not too long ago??

(I'm not trying to argue nor really prove my point... if I even have one  LOL)  This is what I was referring too when we were discussing "pulling the troops out by 2012".  I said I thought it was unrealistic.  I mentioned the fact that with everyone we've ever gone to war with, we've stayed there after the "war" was officially over.  Japan, Germany, Korea, Viet Nam... you name them and we've got a base or two there.

I think it has a lot to do with strategy.  I think anyone could have made that promise, that we'd be out by 2014 and somewhat even believe it.

This article makes me angry and disappointed at the Administration..We should NOT stay..This war has gone on WAY too long, we've lost WAY too many lives, and WAY too much money....Both the President and Vice President were Adamant that we would be out in 2014....Disappointing...SMH
