Wow, there are so many...Proud to be an American, Star Spangled Banner (makes me cry every time and so embarrassing at a public function. LOL). There are some that came out right after 9/11 (several actually), that I can't remember the names of off the top of my head. One was by Toby Keith and I think Alan Jackson sings one too....Anyway, there are many and I am very proud to be an American. That's for sure!
An old friend of mine is a semi-known song writer from Austin Texas. He wrote a song years before 9/11. I cannot remember the name of it but do remember a couple of lines.
"we don't need your crimes or trouble, we've got more than enough to last, if you don't like the way we do things here, you can kiss my country a$$".
The song was written right after a big Immigration raid rounded up a group of illegal European and Mexican immigrants who were raising hell, breaking laws, etc. These folks were mad that there werent more things being done to accommodate them and their needs and wants....
Im with sweetpea. Also my favorite.
I like Born in the USA - Bruce Springsteen. :)
I love em all ... Stars and stripes I think ... I put my big flag out ..we need it more than ever now with all the negativity .. folks should remember how great and exceptional this Nation is ..
Yeah, it is quite a celebration. Its nice to have a time when the country comes together, expecially since there are so many things we are divided on.
Hopefully that wont change. :)
I'm not a US citizen obviously. But I love!!! going to the US on the 4th. I love the way you guys go all out and make it such a huge celebration...and it's so patriotic. The atmosphere is just amazing. Flags everywhere..it's great.
Canada Day is July 1st here. Yeah, we have a celebration, but it does not even compare to the way you all do it up. I wish all my American friends a wonderful 4th! Easy for me to pick my favorite Canadian Patriotic song..we only have a small handful. Wish we had your sense of patriotism here.
Hmmm, I couldnt pick just one. I like most of them.
