This explains why, for example, we don't hear much about Bernie Sanders or the focus is on fear and in-depth reporting is a thing of the past.
I try to read between the lines whenever possible.

i agree about it being all about the ratings. You'd think as the consumers that we would have input and I guess we do to some extent. We keep tuning in to this ridiculousness.
Ratings!!!! That is all any of it is for. Its all a ratings game and death and violence and negativity seem to get them....
