On May 25, 2010, the President announced that 1200 National Guard troops will be send to the border. Where are they? No one seems to know. Maybe someone on the forum could enlighten us.
In the meantime, police in Nogales, Arizona have been threatened by drug cartels. The police have been advised to stay armed even off duty because of the sniper threat. They are taking this seriously.
About 3,500 acres of southern Arizona along the Mexican border is closed to U.S. citizens due to increased violence in the region. This does include the Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge. In other words, we fund a park that only the drug cartels and human smugglers get to use.
The Obama administration plans to sue Arizona over their new law to enforce immigration laws already on the books. And they won't finish the border fence.
So I ask once again, where are the National Guard troops?
