You are right, we do not know and we need to find out. Now!
There is much that we do not know. We have sold ourselves out and given the power to those who are supposed to serve US.
Did Bush do all that in the first year then ...Wow or are you talking about the 8 years he was in ..I was talking about one year ....I dont think ,I will check, Laura Bush had 22 'servants' .....
I have complaints about that too. Most Americans do not know what our tax payer dollars go torwards and we should.
Our former pres Bush and family were on Boca Grande a few weeks go. Onterage and all. Tax dollars are still being spent to keep him safe. What no complaint there? In fact, the place where they stay on vacation is litterally vacated and the whole Inn goes for just them, still even tho he is no longer president.
I don't know that anyone was saying that that was right either. I would like to know what tax payer dollars are being spent on that type of thing no matter who is doing it. By the way, as this country is in trouble financially-------- I am sure many families are foregoing expensive vacations this year. I'm sure you see where I am going with that.
When the president travels -- as George Bush did, as Bill Clinton did, as presidents have, you know, throughout history -- the government pays to keep them safe, to keep their communication secure. This is just part of the job. George Bush holds the position for most vacations for a sitting president...on tax payers money.
Yes I just dont get it, they all go spending ,our money jetting round the world ...his family have done some travelling at our expense why doesnt he use his own .lolly ..or spread some of that around to the poor...
I can think of ONE benefit of the trip to Indonesia...
I would be interested to see what the benefit is going to be on OBama s trip with his family and entourage going to Indonesia in March ..I will gen up on it but I am uncertain how it beneifts us other that costing millions and Millions on several Jets not counting the cost of security for the 4 of them and all the other trappings .,so he may show his children where he learned about Islam , yes and I do hear he is going to do some kind of partner deal there .Where will he jet off to next month ?
Well, that is true Margy. All spending that uses tax payer money should be made public. We bash CEO's for their perks (okay, rightly so . . .) but the perks of some of our government officials are pretty profound.
I'm a big fan of mentoring, turtoring and helping to raise people up when they feel helpless in their situation. And if I chose how my tax payer dollars were spent, I'd have more in programs that do help people help themselves. And of course, the things that are of national necessity ( of which parties, vacations, and the first ladies personal shopper aren't one of----------- that would go for ANY first lady, not just this one.)
I agree there are circumstances of course and thats where Charity comes in again who has foundations and gives most to charity the 'Rich' ...Americans are the most generous people on the face of the earth when it comes to giving ie look at the money raised for Haiti even when we have our own crisis at home with no work, etc and the Leader of this great nation getting us into Trillions of debt and planning more ...whilst he and his family and his administration jet around the world on a whim ...ie Pelosi spending our money to jet too and fro to San Francisco having drinks parties on board ..Mrs OBama has 22 helpers in the WH just for her alone ...more than any other first 'lady'.. whoops sorry I got carried away ....
There are people that came from nothing and have worked every day of their life to get what they have. Some end up being successful and have more than others. Then they are the "rich" just getting richer. No matter if they did it through their own hard work and ability.
I'm not discounting those that are born into circumstances that are beyond their control, but I think instead of more programs to encourage underacheivement, I'd want to work on programs that help people thrive and be self sufficient. Figuring out how to help people help themselves would be a great goal.
The government robs from those that have in order to give to those that want what others have, without working for it. Mind you, the retirement, and so forth, is just a small pittance in return for what they put in.
Yes Vic is right the Rich get a bad rap, maybe its jealousy? but it is they who employ they who spend , restaurants , material goods ,I dont think my family stole , I think they owned a business and worked hard to have and hopefully keep and pass onto their children what they earned ,in this Obama and his hero Alinski's world of spreading the wealth I ask... WHY ...why do not the poor go earn ,why is it the responsibliity of the hard workers to keep the lazy that sit and dont work that this government will pay money out to do just that ..NOTHING
Came home between routes to spread a little sunshine.
I get what your saying VicUser, but we had trickle down for 8 years and look where we are. It's much harder for trickle up to work when you start with a pile of crap.
I'm off to work also. See ya all later.
Nope, you don't pay yourself the people you work for do.
I am employed by a poor person. Me. Off to work I go. Have a great day everyone and try not to binge beat while Im gone. I gotta pull a double so it will be late before I can come share a cup of joe with you all.
The one thing that bothers me with those that say trickledown economics doesn't work is, when was the last time you were employed by a poor person?
Could it be that some of the people that are on here a lot have learned to work smarter rather than harder and thus can multitask and thus seem as if they don’t work?
Wow tweener! Should you not be at work? Does school not start early?
To: Teekie-Too
You're not so good at that math, are ya? That's 7 1/2 hours of shut-eye. Good job. You must have gone to government school (you probably called it by it's benign name, public school?...yep, thought so).
See. I live in the Central Time zone. When the "little hand" is on the "9" here, it's on the "10" where YOU are....are you with me? Oh, you nipped a little too much schnapps? Sorry. Maybe someone can draw you a picture?
twe, I liked your story. How true.
Gosh guys and I thought you were all dumb ...I am learning so much thanks peg and Twe and ILadequate for the intelligent input .
Peggy, I hate to tell you, but your words have been splashed all over the Internet for everyone to see. And a lot of your way-out-there words put you right in line with the beliefs of Adrian Rogers.
