another case for forced sterilization?

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - A coroner says a toddler in Mississippi whose body was found in an oven died from heat injuries.

Washington County Coroner Methel Johnson said Friday that the pathologist is still trying to determine if 3-year-old Tristan Robinson was conscious when he was put inside the electric oven. He also appeared to have suffered trauma to his head.

Police found the boy's body at his mother's apartment Wednesday. Preliminary autopsy results show he died from "thermal injuries" from being in the hot oven.

Greenville police have charged the boy's 24-year-old mother, Terrie A. Robinson, with murder. She is being held on a $5 million bond.

Here is what I always come back to (yes, the resident extreme left winger..lol).  If we kill someone because they killed, doesn't that put us on equal ground?  I so go back and forth on all of these issues.  When I read of a specific incident like the one Mel posted I am fully prepared to go burn her myself...seriously, I am.  But then I have to wonder..what does that make me?  Yep, still a fence sitter I guess.  But yes, no question Mel, when I see something like this every fiber of my being wants revenge for that child.  And liladvocate...once again you bring up such an important point.  I do think that we as a society need to stop with the "not my business" attitude when we notice something.  We have to not be afraid to speak up.  I have to believe (because it keeps me sane) that this "mother" must be dealing with some pretty severe mental health issues.  Where was her family?  Where was this childs father?  A neighbor?  Anyone at all?

She purposely killed someone, she needs to go as well.  No need letting her suck tax payers dollars by living in a prison, and sucking more tax payer money by having the numerous appeals she'll be allowed to have......

IMO, acts like this continue because there isn't a more viable deterrent.  Death would be a better deterrent....

    I just want to know why horrific events like this keep happening and no one is aware of them until afterwards. Child abuse usually isn't a one time event and there are signs that it could be occurring and if people notice it they should report it. The penalty for the offender is important too but the public has to be proactive.

think of the baby cooking slowly in the oven unable to get out...  I hope she gets the death penalty.  If she did it to your child wouldn't you want her killed?  The child was 3 it is sickening that child knew what was happening

I still don't believe in forced sterilization, but I hope this women is never ever allowed out of jail.  We have a big case here right now before the courts.  A "father" and I use that term with much sarcasm, was angry at his wife so he killed both their children and tried to kill her.  She survived...at least physically, obviously she will live in her own personal Hell for the rest of her life.

I will never ever understand what is wrong with this people.  How do you do something like this to innocent children?  It makes me sick to read stories like this, it truly does.

No I dont agree with forced sterilization..even with these horrific happenings government is too much in control already we will be like the Nazi's if we allow this ..the implications are big .
