in defense of HuffingtonPost

Nursegirl's recent comment about the Huffingtonpost got me wondering where the news on there does come from. Here's the sources~ looks very reliable to me. ( I couldn't recall which thread the comment was on, so I'm posing this here )

I think we were better off when we had local news and the daily paper and that was it, period.

We are getting loopy! I think we are all getting burned out! Thank God it will all be over soon!

Huffington's biggest problems is the "opinion" pieces that they write and try to pass off as hard hitting news. They are written by liberals.

Doesn't always work to my advantage, but thanks for the acknowledgement.  It was meant to be a joke, and it is not contagious.... (for clarification, of course)

I never said they were making stuff up, or didn't have SOURCES for their stories...I said they are far left leaning, and present the info in that manner.  They also fill their pages with as much Liberal, anti-repub stuff that they can get their hands on.

They spin spin spin!

Thanks for the post, though.  I appreciate you looking that up.

I’ll be sure not to turn the radio on. My strategy is with the Interviews I know I will eventually get bored and fall back to sleep. If there is good music on I know I’ll stay awake and listen to it.

And the best music is on the radio at that time too.

I wake up a lot around 1:00 or 2:00 and when I get tired tossing and turning, I give up and turn the TV on. I notice there are more balanced interviews on but for some reason the are not aired during prime time.

True. And I think the internet makes it all worse. Partisan sights have taken over and even the major networks cannot seem to just report the news anymore and allow someone to make up their minds. Everyone wants to tell us what is going on and how to think.

What exactly is PURE news these days?  LOL

I figure a lot of places do have a particular idea that they find info to support  (Obama good, Romney bad or Obama bad, Romney good).

It doesn't really bother me.  And it doesn't mean what they write isn't true *a lot* of the time.

Did you know!

The Huffington Post was founded by Arianna Huffington in May 2005, and launched a few days later on May 9. The Huffington Post has an active community, with over one million comments made on the site each month. Prior to The Huffington Post, Huffington hosted a website called Ariannaonline.com. Her first foray into the Internet was a website called Resignation.com, which called for the resignation of President Bill Clinton and was a rallying place for conservatives opposing Clinton.
