i had some iburofen about an hour ago and my tooths fine now and just a dull pain in the gum around injection site which i think may fade in a few days but i think the filling still may b resting on a nerve or i may need tooth extracting or a root canal i will ring my dentist first thing in the morning. and nope theres no discoloration and no swellin just a little lump which i think is the site of the injection
Not much you can do really, usually it is advised to put an icepack immediately after such injection. Hematomas caused by IA injections should disappear by itself after 7 to 14 days. You can still use cold pack + take some over the counter pain medications.
Any outside skin discoloration? Any swelling in the muccobuccal fold (between gums and cheek)?
Like Momma suggested you can also call your own dentist for some extra advise.
yes he only left the painful injection in for about 3 seconds, the first injection which was fine he seemed to leave in about 10 seconds. what would you suggest i do from here calibran ?
If it was indeed IA injection, than hematomas are very common. It may have been a nerve, or the load may have been injected too fast. Gotta do it slow and steady. :)
i have read i few similar posts and it sounds like the dentist could have injected my inferior alveolar nerve which doesnt sound too good, im a bit worried about going back and being given another injection as it still hurts a lot
Call your dentist immediately and let him know what is going on and follow his advice. I don't feel it's anything serious but you may have an infection brewing and you want to catch this early. Take care!
