Cut in gums above tooth

Hi,
I've had this cut above my gums for a few days, and it doesn't hurt, but bleeds when I brush it. I have no idea what this is, and I am seeing a dentist on the 28 for a check-up, but until then I'd like to know if this is anything anyone's seen before and if they can tell me what I'm getting myself into. I brush my teeth twice a day, and take very good care of them. I've attached an image to what it looks like. Thank you.

Hi! I know this post was long time ago but I'm just wondering what happened after you visited the dentist regarding this cut on your gum? What dis the dentist say? And how long did it take for it to heal? Thanks!

The gum may have got scratched by some sharp food that you ate, like crisps or crusty bread..  When you brush your teeth avoid the cut area to allow it to heal properly.

Gargle with salty water.  This will help with healing.
