thanks for the input. However, the bone that was exposed wasn't inside the dry socket, it was erupting threw my gums around where the tooth was pulled and it hurt like hell. I was living on mashed potatoes. The second surgeon did acknowledge after he removed the pieces of bone that he could understand why I was in so much pain. He even showed me what he trimmed off.
For several weeks following this procedure I continued to have small pieces of bone coming through and bleeding. The pain was brutal. I am seeing my regular dentist soon just to make sure it healed alright. I never imagined such a long recovery time for a pulled tooth. I was just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience.
Exposure of bone is rarely encountered after the procedure. However, exposure of bone is generally not associated with pain.
