Can a dental xray tell how deep the cavity is, or just that there is a cavity. If it can only show that there is a cavity, is there any other tests a dentist can do to determine how deep the cavity is?
I have a broken tooth and my dentist said he would not know whether I needed a root canal until he put a temporary crown on. I really think it depends on what he sees when he starts shaving away at tooth.
Should I get a 2nd opinion, dentist says he cannot tell how deep it is until he gets in the tooth, and that I may need a crown. I feel like this is what he really wants to do.
