Is High Fever 5 days after 4 wisdom teeth are extracted normal?

Hi, I got my 4 wisdom teeth removed and Im not in pain but at the 5 day I started having really high fever and my dentist told me it was the stitches material giving me a reaction so he sent me more antibiotics just to be safe and fever meds and told me I had to wait to at least have the stitches 8 days after the removal. So the eight day came and my stitches were pulled out, I'm not in pain, meds have been able to controll the fever until the 8 day and I feel like i have bad breath and strange/bad taste in the mouth. And during the 2 days I had the high fever I had a throath and ear sore. Now i dont feel pain but Im tacking meds for that. So is this normal or should I be worried about having a dry socket? The dentist didn't mention anything related to a dry socket when he removed the stitches...could it be possible for him thi miss that?
