Oral infection or something else entirely?

I few years ago I started running a low grade fever and had painful swollen lymph nodes. I went to the Doctor, who did a full workup. Lymph node biopsy, hemotology consult, infectious disease consult, cardiologist, echo (I've had endocarditis before). Nothing out of all of it. Finally, I got dental insurance and went to the dentist. Six months after my wisdom teeth were pulled, the fever went away. That was a year ago. All my dental work is done and my mouth should be in good shape. Now the lymph nodes are swelling again, this time not only in my neck. I also keep getting painful sores in my mouth that don't look like canker or cold sores. They are very red, and show up on throat, tonsils, palate (hard and soft). No fever, no elevated blood count. My thyroid is also out of whack lately (This is being treated). I am afraid of asking my doc to investigate lymph nodes again, as she seems frustrated with my lack of diagnosis. Could this be dental? I was at the dentist 3 months ago for my final filling.

You should never feel bad seeing your doctor!  If she is frustrated then it is time to find a new doctor who will not get frustrated but find answers for you.  I found out the hard way, that often doctors when they don't have the answers do not recommend another opinion, or refer you to someone else.  You, have to make this decision.  I lost a son due to "frustrated ego inflated" doctors.  I think an ENT is your next step.
