I broke my tooth awhile ago while grinding my teeth. The tooth already had a metallic filling in it and the tooth just broke out around the back. I went to my family dentist and they informed me that I would probably need a root canal.
I went to a new dentist about two weeks ago. I was originally going for root canal but he did the vitality test and then decided I didn't need one (different dentist that originally prescribed root canal). He took the old filling out and filled it with some weird blueish/whiteish filling material. I have to go back in about a month or so to have the cap put on.
I came home afterwards and I had some major discomfort but I figured it was just because of all the work I had done. Now, two weeks later.. the tooth still hurts me everyday, it's a throbbing pain. I also have TMJ Syndrome and grind my teeth horribly. I had pain around the my ear just because of the jaw problems. I'm not sure if it's my jaw or my tooth hurting... but I'm pretty sure it's the tooth..
What should I do?
