Could this be a sign of gum disease?

I have a few cuts in my gums and they sting really bad, not to mention the fact that it so painful to brush now, my eyes begin to water from the amount of pain. I have slightly inflamed gums as well, the dentist warned me about gingivitis or something and told me to brush better... so I did. And now, they are cut up and sting. Also, I have all these sores on the inside of my cheeks right now for some reason, I have no clue if it's related or not but they are also irritating my brushing. (I have braces too)

Im really saddened about your suffering,

Please, if you're using a hard bristle tooth brush, change it to soft bristles Immediately.

Use an alcohol free antiseptic mouth wash after your gums have healed, and dissolve salt in Luke warm water and rinse with that as if it was Listerine for the next couple of weeks.

You are describing the initial stages of gingivitis, and if you don't tackle these symptoms right away, it can develop into a full blown case of periodontal disease.

Thanks! I can't use any other toothpaste but Sensodyne Pronamel or whatever but I'll look for a softer brush and follow your advice! :)

You need to use a very soft brush and brush often and gently but thoroughly, not skipping any areas.

You may do better with using neem toothpaste, which you can order on line.  It should help your mouth wounds heal up.  I also like baking soda toothpaste.

If your dentist told you you have gingivitis, you need to take action as he tells you.  It's not only cavities that cause tooth loss, but also gum disease.  Inflammation and bleeding are signs of gum disease.  Gum disease can also cause heart problems.  If brushing 3-5 times a day doesn't turn this around, see your doctor and get checked for medical problems causing this.  Oh, and one thing is nutritional deficiencies, so take a whole-food supplement from a healthfood store and eat plenty of fruits and vegetables.
